Structuring a Simple Website

Before building your web site it is essential to spend time planning it on paper. Write down the purpose of the site and what
the content of each page will be as this will save time and headaches later.

Firstly, define your Home Page, introduction and site index, and then list the other pages noting the content including paragraphs, lists, photos and logos or clipart. Now work out how your individual pages will ink together to produce your web site. A simple flowchart is a useful way to plan how your pages will link to each other to make it easy for readers to nativate through your site.

Having your copy already typed and edited and ready to use in a word of text document is an excellent idea that will save you lots of time later when you are ready to start adding content to your web pages. You will be able to copy and paste your text whenever appropriate.

Creating a Page

From the 350pages home page, select to "create a Page".

Select a template style and a layout. Remember that this is only a template and that your final web pages will look very different once you have personalized it with your own colors and elements. Choose a template for the layout and components rather than look and colors.

After you have chosen your template you will be on the Page Creation screen.
