Inserting Graphics

Next, we will add our team’s logo. At this stage we will use a logo from the 350 library to show you how to change a style and we will show you how to upload your own logo later.

The logo in the top left corner is obscured by the Page Controls menu, so hold down your mouse button on the Page Controls title bar and drag this out of the way. Any item with a green title bar can be moved if it is in the way of anything you wish to edit. Hover over the logo in the top left corner and click on the pen icon to open the graphic editor. Select the option Change Graphic Style.

This takes us to the Selection Box where we can select from the 350 library or any files that we have previously uploaded. Select the Logos tab and click on the logo of your choice. We are back in the Graphics Editor so you can customize the chosen logo with perhaps a change of color or size?

Now, we want change the background of our top bar to brown. Go to Page Controls bar which has three buttons attached to it. Click on the middle button to open the Page Properties menu. There are a number of different options you can change, but for now all we wish to focus on is the top panel color. Find the Top Bar Background color option, and click on the small dark blue color block. You will see the same color picker we used for the Graphic Editor. This time, select a purple, and click on the Save button in the color picker and again Save in the Page Properties menu. You’ll see the background behind our title change to purple. Simple, eh?

Now we will replace the image in the top right. For this, we will use some clipart in the library that relates to the baseball sport. Hover over the image in the top right to show the Editing Options Bar and then select the fourth option which is a symbol. Now select Image and click on Replace.

We will now be in the Selection Box where we can select from the 350 library or any files that we have previously uploaded. Select the Clipart tab. The Selection Box will show everything in our library that is tagged under the ‘popular’ category. There’s nothing useful for our purpose here, so we will look in the ‘sports’ category to get a more tailored list for our needs. Click on the category drop down menu and select sport to see all the clipart in that category.

Let’s select the baseball mitt by clicking on it. We don’t want to edit it so click Save in the Image Editor.

You will now see the baseball clipart on your page where the photo used to be.

That’s our top bar completed! Now when Eaglehawk fans come to our website, the first thing they will see is the Eaglehawk logo, title and baseball image – a pretty resounding statement that they’ve come to the right place.
