If you did the introductory tutorial, you
will know that the 2-page website for the
Baltimore Eaglehawks is up and running and
looks in great shape (see here). However, there is still a lot more that
we could do to make our site more stylish
and professional. There are many more tools
that we can call upon. We'll be adding
more pages to focus on the players of the
Eaglehawks, which will require us to use
floating objects and galleries, and we'll
be making the most of our profile to sell
official Eaglehawk’s merchandise, with
the e-commerce tools.
This tutorial assumes that you have completed
the previous tutorial and built your 2-page
website, and therefore have a working knowledge
of 350pages. If this is not the case, then
please start from here. If you wish to skip the beginning of the
advanced tutorial and get straight to the
section on e-commerce, then please click
here. To do this tutorial you will need to upload
some images (preferably of people) into your
File Manager - we have provided a package
of images for you to download for this tutorial
here in a zip file.
As was mentioned at the beginning of our
first tutorial, planning is important not
just in terms of content, but in terms of
structure as well. We have our first two
pages in our chosen style using the customisable
templates, but this time we want to design
our own template layout, based upon one of
the customisable templates. To keep our website
consistent we will be using the copy
properties feature. Consistency makes it
easier to navigate around a website, and
a happy visitor will come back again and
again, providing you with more traffic and
making your site ever more popular.
