Gallery Part 1

Let's look at the placeholder for the gallery. This row of three images are considered a group, and cannot be edited as a gallery, but it does give you a good preview of what we can achieve with a gallery. Hover over the group (just inside the dotted line surrounding all the images), and click on the Insert button to bring up the Insert new object menu. Select the Image Gallery, and then click on the Replace button to display the Image Gallery editor.

Click the add button to display the Selection box. You will note that this is slightly different from previous selection boxes in how it displays images as it allows you to select multiple photos. Let's check the boxes of the photos that we uploaded earlier.and then click ‘use’.
Our 8 photos are now lined up in our gallery editor. Let's click on the Settings tab.
The default for this gallery is a 4 column row of photos. As we have 8 photos selected, leaving this as it is will give us two neat rows of four photos. Presenting your galleries in a uniform manner wherever possible will make your website neat and professional to your visitors. The next option is the thumbnail size. A gallery, when viewed by your visitor, will show smaller thumbnail versions of the images on a single page, and these can be clicked to open up to the full size version . Normally a Medium size will suffice, but as we are using player photos which may require a lot of detail, we should change this to large.

The next option is the Image Type, allowing you to choose between captioned and standard images. We'll be adding captions to these images very shortly, so change this to Captioned Images.
