Inserting Your Own HTML

Although 350pages is designed so that you do not need to understand HTML, some users want to enhance their pages beyond the capabilities of 350pages or they want to insert HTML snippets to add content to their pages. A great example of a third party content reference site can be found at www.freesticky.com.

Where a completely unique page design is required we have enabled HTML web pages to be uploaded and published from your File Manager - for example, you could create a web page in Frontpage or Dreamweaver and upload and publish it, from within 350pages.

Remember to also upload and publish any graphics or photos that you use on those pages.

Where a small change to a page is required, if you understand HTML then you can add your own code into the paragraph editor. Locate the place on your page where you wish to insert the HTML, and then on either the item above or below, hover over it and click on the + button to insert a new object. Choose Paragraph, and click on either the Above or Below button. In the paragraph editor, click on the HTML tab to gain access to the HTML for that paragraph. Replace the default text here with your correct HTML.

When inserting raw HTML, you must be VERY careful to ensure that any tags are correctly formed. For example, every piece of Javascript should start with <SCRIPT> and end with </SCRIPT>. If you finish with <SCRIPT> by mistake, it may unexpectedly affect the page in a negative way.

TIP You should test your HTML code on your computer first by creating a local test HTML file and loading it in your browser to make sure that the code is correct.
