Add a hit counter to your website

If you're interested in keeping a check on your website activity then the best solution is to add a hit counter. There are many companies that provide this free but we recommend mywebstats.org. It will keep track of all hits to your webpage as well as providing reports for what browser is being used, the country of origin and several other pieces of useful information.

Receiving a counter from mywebstats is a simple three step process. First, choose the style of counter you want from the many available by clicking the option and then the next button at the bottom of the screen. You will then be asked to select a few options and answer a few questions before you are able to sign up. Once you have made these choices, click on the Sign Up Now button. Now, under the "DIY" box, highlight the code and copy it.

Then, in the 350pages editor for your webpage, go to the Object above or below where you wish to place the Hit Counter and select the Insert option on the Object's editor bar.  From the menu select Paragraph, and click on above or below (or replace if you want to swap the currently selected object for your Hit Counter) and this will bring up the Text editor.

You will see three tabs at the top of the Text editor. Click on the HTML tab, and 'paste' the code for the Hit Counter into the box. Click Save, and the counter should appear as you want it. Save and publish the page as you normally would so that everyone on the web can see it too. If you want to see the detailed reports at any time, simply log into MyWebStats and click on the View Reports option.
