Add a stock quote to your website If you have a business or financial website then you may wish to keep your visitors up to date with the world's stock markets. Embedding stock tickers on your website is the perfect solution and ensures that your visitors don't leave your website. A good option for a free stock ticker is Yahoo! Finance. You will need a valid Yahoo! ID to embed this stock ticker content. Once you are logged in, visit http://finance.yahoo.com/badges/ and click on the Start Now button. The first choice you need to make is the type of stock chart you want to display on your page. This choice is entirely up to you, but keep in mind the design of your page - inserting something too large without the content to match would imbalance your page, for example. On the next screen, you will be given a number of options in order to customise your chart with. Depending on the type of chart you've chosen, you may have more or less options available to you, and these are all of your own ersonal preference to what kind of information about the stocks you want to show. The only thing you should keep in mind is the badge's width - again, be mindful of where you want to display the chart and the space you have around it. With all of these options selected, click on the Get Code button at the bottom of the screen. Highlight and copy the code in the box. In the 350pages editor for your webpage, go to the Object above or below where you wish to place the stock quote and select the Insert option on the Object's editor bar. From the menu select Paragraph, and click on 'above' or 'below' (or 'replace' if you want to swap the currently selected object for your stock quote) and this will bring up the Text editor. You will see three tabs at the top of the Text editor. Click on the HTML tab, and 'paste' the code for the stock quote into the box. Click Save, and the stock quote should appear as you want it. Save and publish the webpage as you would normally so that everyone on the web can see it too. |
