Add a Travel Map to your website
Want to show the world where you've been?
A travel map is the perfect tool. You can
mark locations you've visited, locations
where you're going and locations you
can advise on.
Tripadvisor.com offers an easy tool for doing
this, which you can then embed into your
350pages site.
The first thing to do is create your Travel
Map. Sign up for an account at tripadvisor.com,
and then from the horizontal menu, click
the Travel Map button. Here, you'll be
able to scroll around using the map to get
near to places where you have been, and they
will appear in the menu to the right for
you to "check". You can also add
a place by typing in the name at the top
of the map. More help is available from Tripadvisor's
help documentation. Once you are happy with
the look of your map, click 'save and
continue' and on the next screen select
the 'Get The Code' button at the
bottom of the screen.
Select one or both of the two options to
display the travel map and destinations and
then highlight and copy the code offered.
Then, in the 350pages editor for your webpage,
go to the Object above or below where you
wish to place the Travel map and select the
Insert option on the Object's editor
bar. From the menu select Paragraph,
and click on above or below (or replace if
you want to swap the currently selected object
for your Travel map) and this will bring
up the Text editor.
You will see three tabs at the top of the
Text editor. Click on the HTML tab, and 'paste'
the code for the Travel map into the box.
Click Save, and the map should appear as
you want it. Save and publish the webpage
as you normally would so that everyone on
the web can see it too.
